New Birds and Blooms Collection from Heartfelt Creations

Welcome friends to our first Heartfelt Creations release of 2015, "Birds and Blooms".  Not only did I have a lot of fun designing the paper collection but also playing with all the stamps, dies, and papers to create this mini album.
I started by making the mini album with chipboard and kraft cardstock.
I created the binding using the “Stacked Hinge Binding” technique.
Closeups of the flowers on the cover.
Once I had made the pages with kraft cardstock I started decorating the inside of the covers and pages with patterned paper and diecuts.

Inks:  Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black), Distress ink (picked raspberry, gathered twigs, chipped sapphire, peeled paint)
Paper:  Cardstock (Kraft), Vellum (White), Chipboard

Finished size of mini album is 5” x 7” x 1 3/4”.  Cut the following pieces from chipboard to make cover, 2 - 5” x 7”, 1 - 1 3/4” x 7”.  Cover chipboard with kraft cardstock.  For the binding I used a technique called “Stacked Hinge Binding” (you can find lots of video tutorials on YouTube).  Make 4 pages from Kraft cardstock, cut a panel measuring 9” x 6 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” from left edge.  Cut 4 each of the following for pockets, 5 1/4” x 3”, 2” x 7 1/2”.  5 1/4” piece, score 1/2” in on either side of the long measurement, this will give you a 4 1/2” x 3” pocket.  2” piece, score 1/2” in on both sides of the long measurement, this will give you a 2” x 6 1/2” pocket, adhere pockets as pictured.  Adhere pages to binding.  Cut panels of patterned paper and ink edges with peeled paint, cover all the panels and pockets of all pages with patterned paper.  Adhere pattered paper panel to inside covers, adhere patterned paper panels to outside of back cover and spine.  Stamp flowers, birds, branches, and leaves on white cardstock with black ink and cut with coordinating dies.  Color all leaves and branches with peeled paint, color flowers with picked raspberry, color birds with chipped sapphire and gathered twigs.  Shape flowers and leaves.  Adhere white lace trim, adhere decorative lace diecut, adhere some branches and birds, adhere flowers and leaves, add a sentiment.  Cut tickets and tags from patterned paper with coordinating dies, ink edges with peeled paint.  Cut 2 journaling blocks from patterned paper, ink edges with peeled paint, mat with kraft cardstock.  Cut 8 panels from kraft cardstock with large die from “Cut Mat Create 1A”, cut 8 panels from patterned paper with die from “Cut Mat Create 2A”, ink edges with peeled paint distress ink, adhere to kraft cardstock panels as pictured.  Cut 10 decorative circles with die from “Sweet Lullaby” set from kraft cardstock, adhere to pocket inserts as pictured.  Cut 2 half circles from white vellum with border die from “Layered Scalloped Posy” die set, cut 2 decorative half circles from kraft cardstock with coordinating die, adhere to vellum and adhere to inside of covers to create a pocket as pictured.  For front cover, use a card panel, cut the center image with “Cut Mat Create” coordinating die, cut the 3 frames with paper trimmer, ink edges with peeled paint, adhere pink large frame to cover, mat next 2 small frames with kraft cardstock and adhere with foam dots.  Cut 4 decorative corners from kraft cardstock, adhere to center image, adhere image to cover with foam dots.  Add some leaf branches and flowers.  Add adhesive rhinestones and glitter to all the flowers, adhere green rhinestones as pictured.  Add some twine to the tags.
