Heartfelt Creations Poinsettia Ornament

Good morning friends, here we are, another wonderful Wednesday, and with Wednesday comes a project featuring the beautiful images from Heartfelt Creations.  Today I have an ornament I made with some of the new images from the "Christmas Cheer" Collection released last week.  I used the image from the "Poinsettia Ornament 1" set, stamped twice and heat embossed with fine detail gold embossing powder.  This photo shows the front of the ornament. 

And here is the back of the ornament.  I didn't want it to be completely flat, so I placed some pop dots in the center of the ornament and adhered them together.

I love the embossed background design, after I embossed the gold I covered the white area with iridescent medium, it added a real pretty sparkle to the white areas.

I stamped three of the "Petite Poinsettia" images on watercolor paper, heat embossed and colored with watercolor paints, cut with the coordinating dies and shaped slightly with embossing tools.

My final touch, some pretty and sparkly beads and gold findings for a little dangle.

Image Colored With:  Winsor & Newton watercolors, Gum Arabic, W&N Iridescent Medium
Paper:  140lb. cold press watercolor paper
Accessories:  Ribbon, Ranger super fine detail embossing powder (Gold), MM gold eyelet, Recollections adhesive rhinestones, gold thread, beading thread, beads, pop dots

Instructions:
Size:  5" x 4 1/2"
Stamp ornament from "Poinsettia Ornament 1" set on watercolor paper twice with watermark ink, heat emboss with gold embossing powder, diecut with coordinating die, paint with iridescent medium covering all white areas except the poinsettia, color poinsettia with watercolors, using an embossing tool, shape ornament around the edge on the back side of the paper.  Stamp the following poinsettia layers from "Petite Poinsettia" set on watercolor paper with watermark ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder; 4-largest image, 2-next size down, diecut with coordinating dies, color with watercolors, shape petals with embossing tools.  Take some beads and gold findings, thread them with beading thread, secure thread to the back side of one of the stamped ornaments.  Place some pop dots on the center of the back side of the ornament, apply some adhesive to the edge of the ornament and adhere to the second ornament, the pop dots will give the ornament a bit of dimension but at the same time the edges will be completely glued down.  Adhere the poinsettia layers, add an adhesive rhinestone to center.  Punch a hole and attach a eyelet to the top of the ornament, add some thread for hanging.  As a final touch add a ribbon bow.
