Birthday Card and VLV Sketch

Hi everyone, I have a quick post today, I made this card yesterday for the Viva La Verve sketch challenge over at SCS.  I wanted a masculine card, so I kept the design very simple and clean, and I found my self having a really hard time with it, I'm so used to putting ribbon and pearls, flowers and all kinds of embellishments, that when it comes to making a masculine card or a CAS card I get stuck.  Used some papers from Basic Grey, the embossing diamond pattern on the blue paper was made with an embossing folder from Sizzix.  I stamped the birthday sentiment on white vellum and placed over the cutout blue paper which I stamped with a clock image from a Tim Holtz stamp set.
The red swirl border was made with a border punch from EK Success called "Scroll Chain".  Thanks for taking the time to stop by and hope you have a wonderful day.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Scrappy Cat (Birthday Wishes), Tim Holtz (Life's Possibilities)
Inks:  Ranger Archival Ink (Jet Black), Distress Ink (weathered wood), Brilliance ink (Graphite Black)
Paper:  Kraft Cardstock, Basic Grey, Daisy d's, white vellum
Other:  EK Success border punch (Scroll Chain), PC mini scallop scissors, MM metallic mini brads, Sizzix embossing folder (Diamonds & Damask), Spellbinders (Lables Five), pop dots
Challenges:  VLV June sketch week 2

  1. Those clock stamps are so neat for a man card and the way you've stamped the sentiment on the vellum and framed is really a great idea. Wonderful choice of DP and color scheme. "Hugs" Carol
