Tag Tutorial

Today I have a tag tutorial using a vintage collage image and stamp from Stampin' D'Amour, the collage images are perfect for any little projects like cards, tags, or labels.
Begin by inking your tag with your favorite Distress ink colors, for this project I picked peeled paint, broken china, and scattered straw.
My next step is to spritz the tag with some Glimmer mist, I wanted a very contrasting color, my choice was a brown color called Tattered Leather.
I wanted to add more of a distressed look to the color so I dripped some water here and there on the tag.
Dry using a heat gun, you can see the results here of the Glimmer mist and the water drops all over the color.
Use a embossing folder to add some texture to your tag, I have used this great folder from Tim Holtz called Postcard, perfect for this project.
Add some more ink to the raised image for additional contrast on the embossing.
For my collage image I chose this wonderful vintage add of a camera.
I used a distress tool to distress the edges of the collage image to make it look more vintage.
For the bookplate I used this die from Sizzix, it's great because it has 3 different bookplate sizes on it to choose from.
Pop the middle piece of chipboard out and paint the outer frame with Distress crackle paint, in this case I used tarnished brass.
Once it dried, I applied some walnut stain ink to make the crackle stand out more.
I stamped the sentiment on a piece of patterned paper that I felt coordinated very well with the other supplies I had picked.
I trimmed the piece of paper to fit on the piece of chipboard from the bookplate and adhered it with Mod Podge.
After adhering it, I used a file from Basic Grey and sanded down the edges on the paper for a more distressed look.
Adhere everything down on the tag, using a needle tool, make a hole and insert a brad on either side to fasten the bookplate.
I added a Prima flower, a chipboard clock face, the game spinner is Tim Holtz, a little tag from MM, and some fun fibers I found in my stash.
