"Happy Easter" Card

Here we are once more, it's Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Monday, today I have an Easter card for you, my inspiration for the design was this great sketch #10 from My Favorite Things.  I started with a piece of bazzill cardstock, I stamped the dragonfly ATC image from PPRS with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with embossing powder, I cut a strip of patterned paper and punched a border on both sides, I did the same thing to a strip of cardstock, I just made sure the width of the paper was just right for the punched design to meet in the center, I then took some ribbon and threaded it through the punched design.  I did all the stitching by hand, I like using a thicker thread like a thin crochet thread.  For the eggs I used the "Floral Egg" stamp from PPRS, I stamped it on different color paper and heat embossed with embossing powder, I then cut with scissors.  Now for the basket, this one was fun!!!  I drew a basket shape on kraft cardstock and cut out, I cut several strips of the same cardstock, inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink and weaved together, once I had a big enough piece of weaved cardstock I glued my basket shape to the back, cut all excess weaved cardstock, adhered all the edges and inked with distress ink.  For the handle, I cut 3 strips of the same kraft cardstock, these are very thin about 1/16", and basically made a braid with them, it took a bit of time but I love the result and texture of it.  I added some punched leaves and a little ribbon bow.  The flowers I made with a stamp from the "Flowers" clear stamp set and the coordinating die also from PPRS.  I adhered the eggs and basket with pop dots for the dimension, the "Happy Easter" sentiment I just printed on white cardstock and inked the edges with spun sugar distress ink.
